Schools
If a child is between 7 and 18 years old, he or she is entitled to free education in a Polish school.
Detailed information on enrollment can be found on the website of the selected school or on the website of the city or municipal office where you live. The decision to admit a child to primary or secondary school is made by the director of the institution.
Kindergarten
The structure of preschool education in Poland: Nursery groups ("Zlobki"). Take children from one year to three years. Some groups accept babies who are barely 6 months old. Kindergarten ("Preschool"). Children from 3 years old come here. For Ukrainian children, visiting the past, a great opportunity to learn Polish and get used to the new country. Zero class ("Zeruvka"). This stage of preschool education is mandatory for all children, unlike the first two. They have no right to refuse enrollment in this class. Children from 5 to 6 years old go here before school.
Private kindergartens will cost:
"Zlobki" - 550 - 700 (rarely up to 900) zlotys per month;
"Preschool" - 300 - 450 zlotys.
"Zeruvka" - is rarely private.
To this amount must be added 7-10 zlotys per day for food.
Regardless of the type of kindergarten, additional costs will be required: additional classes, textbooks, etc.
Polish law does not define the category of persons who do not pay for their children's stay in children's institutions. Parents of children with disabilities, children with special needs - all pay on a general basis. Free - just visit the state gardens, 5 hours a day. Assistance programs have been developed for Polish citizens, under which local authorities partially and completely subsidize the stay in the garden. These programs do not apply to foreigners.
The procedure for enrollment in kindergarten will depend on the type of kindergarten chosen, but in any case you will need: a document proving the identity of one of the parents (passport), application form.
Higher Education
There is no free higher education in Poland. Its cost is low compared to other European countries and even compared to Ukrainian universities in the capital, but the quality is considered much better.
